Salty is so misunderstood. Due to our modern diets being so laden with salt, most health professionals constantly warn people against anything salty.
That being said, it is important to distinguish between salt-laden foods—many of which can lead to various health concerns—and salty as a flavor.
Salty flavors are an indicator that something is very nutritious and laden with minerals. In this class we will explore the mechanisms by which this is done, common health concerns that call for salty flavored herbs as well as how to use salty herbs for preventative health. In the second half of class we will take a deep dive into herbs that fall into this flavor category and learn a simple but effective recipe for incorporating these herbs into your own kitchen.
The class will take place at Perfect Lovers, 2823 N Roxboro St, with parking in the back, or on Zoom. Please indicate at checkout which you prefer.
Half off is available for BIPOC. Simply put in discount code ‘ BIPOCDISCOUNT ‘ at checkout.
