I am the founder of Lion’s Tooth Herbs and a practicing herbalist, writer, and teacher.
I began studying herbalism with the intent to pursue clinical work in 2016. I attended the First Year Apprenticeship at the Columbine’s School of Botanical Studies, as well as their Chasing Spring elective in the Sonoran Desert, in 2018. I graduated with a certificate of completion from the clinical herbal studies program at Sacred Plant Traditions in 2022.
I have also invested in several intensives, both online and in person, with teachers such as 7song, Patricia Kyritsi Howell, Jim McDonald, Tammi Sweet and Mimi Hernandez.
My practice is based on principles of supporting the body’s healing mechanisms, rather than trying to rid it of its symptoms and masking the root cause in the process. I work with my clients to optimize nutrition, rest, movement and herbal medicines as necessary to support recuperation and renewal.
I believe that herbalism should be accessible for all, and strive to provide affordable pricing and straightforward, relatable information for my clients. I recognize that Indigenous people, immigrants and black people have contributed enormously to the study of herbalism in the Western world today. These contributions too often go without due credit and the oppression of these groups’ healing traditions goes unacknowledged. I am committed to creating safe space for those who don’t often feel welcome or cared for by the world of medicine, holistic or otherwise.
Much of my studies are rooted in Western Energetics and Vitalism with influence from North American folk traditions and Traditional Chinese Medicine.
