When you think of sour you may think of the mouth-puckering sensation when you bite into a lemon, or maybe one of the sour candies we were marketed as children. However, there are a number of health benefits for herbs and spices in this flavor category that this class will explore.
Sour, also known as astringent, is like a palate cleanser for the body. It cleanses excess and tightens, draws and shrinks inflamed tissues. We will learn in this class not only how those excesses and conditions manifest, but how herbs in this category can help to address them.
The first portion of this class will go over the theory on the properties of and common ailments associated with herbs in this flavor profile, while the second class will be a deep-dive on specific herbs we can use for these purposes and how to use them in a recipe.
The class will take place at Perfect Lovers, 2823 N Roxboro St, with parking in the back, or on Zoom. Please indicate at checkout which you prefer.
Half off is available for BIPOC. Simply put in discount code ‘ BIPOCDISCOUNT ‘ at checkout.
Refunds not available if you are unable to attend, as the class is recorded and recording will be provided to you within 48 hours of the live class.
Looking forward!
