Spicy, pungent and aromatic foods and herbs are often common and well known, but their benefits may be a mystery. These herbs that embody such a strong flavor can have a powerful effect on your health.
In this class we will start out by learning about the physical systems effected, and what excess, balance and deficiency in these areas look like as well as how spice has historically addressed these concerns. We will also dive into why spicy, pungent and aromatic herbs and spices have a particular affinity for the Autumn and Early Winter, and how to best work with them at this time and all the other times of the year.
The second half of class will focus on specific herbs, to help you build your home apothecary, and we will end by making a simple but effective recipe featuring one or more of these ingredients.
The class will take place at Perfect Lovers, 2823 N Roxboro St, with parking in the back, or on Zoom. Please indicate at checkout which you prefer.
Half off is available for BIPOC. Simply put in discount code ‘ BIPOCDISCOUNT ‘ at checkout.
