A flavor that is the stuff of poetry. The thought of it makes people swoon. In the days of our ancestors, sweets were often a rarity, a special treasure.
But sweet flavor in medicine extends beyond sweeteners. It is also the flavor of foods that build up any given meal. Starchy vegetables, grains, squashes, late summer fruits, even some fatty meats are considered sweet. It is the flavor of the harvest, the preparation for the fall and winter to come.
Come learn more about how to utilize sweet in your own kitchen, in a way that is informed by medicinal practice.
The first portion of this class will go over the theory on the properties of and common ailments associated with herbs in this flavor profile, while the second class will be a deep-dive on specific herbs we can use for these purposes and how to use them in a recipe.
